Salwaa— سلوى
an 'Arabic noun from the root letters س (seen), ل (laam), and و (waw)—is often translated as "quails." More precisely, these were small birds from Paradise, the size of sparrows, resembling quails. Because of the nature of these birds and the reason for their provision, Salwaa is also often translated as "consolation" or "comfort."
Salwaa was a symbol of meat given as provision to the Bani Israa'eel (Children of Israa'eel) after one of their most tremendous trials. Al-Manna was-Salwaa ( ٱلْمَنَّ وَٱلسَّلْوَىٰ - manna and quails), as mentioned in Al-Qur'aan, were given to them as both comfort foods and easily accessible provisions, very much like a calming and soothing blessing after a very difficult storm.
Salwaa Health is a venture into delivering healthcare services and education with an approach that marries the best of natural and allopathic medicine.
Its aims are currently specific to the field of midwifery and to delivering midwife-led care to women in ways that both harness and build upon the legacy and spirit of the traditional midwife—whose efforts were heavily concentrated in empathetic caring, family preservation, and community development—and provide the best of today's evidenced-based, best practices.
Furthermore, with its projections of working with other healthcare practitioners and educators in various fields, Salwaa Health has the objective to become an integral part of the improvements of healthcare delivery and practices to the clients of today and tomorrow.
